“Love everybody” starts in our own community.
We believe a healthy community, like a healthy ecosystem, needs diversity. We like and respect each other, even when we disagree about how to live out our faith. And once we dive beneath the surface, we find that the things that bring us together are far greater and more important than those that divide us. The deeper we go, the more we find what unites us. Our Connect Groups, LifeGroups, and Support Groups are designed to help us get to know and go deeper with one another. Scroll down to learn more about all our different groups!

Prime Time
Prime Time is a group of active adults who are cheerful, warm, accepting and involved. This is our time for adventure, so join us—we’re in the prime of our life, no matter what age!

Young Adults
No matter where you come from or how you got here, there is space for you. This group is open to those who are 21-35 and are seeking community, fun, and fellowship. Join us through our hangouts, game nights, sitting with us at worship, and drinks at local Austin breweries. We would love to have you!

She Time
She Time is a bi-monthly social event for women of all ages and stages to get together, unwind and connect with other ladies in the Austin area. It’s open to all women over the age of 21, so be sure and invite some girlfriends!

We-Brews
Join us for fellowship and family-friendly fun every other month at a local brewery. We rotate locations each event. No registration required. Just show up for community, conversation, and of course, beer. We’ll see you there!

Women's Book Club
3rd Tuesdays | 1:30PM | Sanctuary
Join us for a monthly book club where we discuss what we’ve read with other women! One of the wonderful side effects of this fellowship is the sense of community we’ve developed as we have met together. We‘ve made new friends who celebrate with us in times of joy and support us in times of illness or sadness.

Men's Book Club
1st Wednesdays | 3PM | SHPC Library
The SHPC Men’s Books Club gathers once a month for fellowship and discussion of the month’s chosen book. To receive the list of books we will be reading in our upcoming season and for more information, contact Gene Wright.
Join An SHPC LIFEGOURP!
Creating space for people to "Love God & Love Everybody" together.
Come and Join an SHPC LifeGroup! LifeGroups are small groups that create space for people to intentionally share their lives with others, grow spiritually together, and encourage each other through the highs and lows of life. Much like the early church in Acts did, our LifeGroups will have a balance of caring, bible study, praying and eating.
Each LifeGroup is unique in where and when they choose to meet, and how frequently. Some LifeGroups are intergenerational, others are filled with those at a similar stage of life; some are mixed, and others are for only men or women. Each group is also unique in the topic they've chosen to study.
In other words, there is a LifeGroup for YOU!

Safe To Be
First Thursdays | 6PM | Café
When we are struggling it is helpful to walk with others who are also dealing with the same or similar experiences as we are. As the father of a trans kiddo, I know I needed people to talk with, ask questions of, sometimes cry with, often laugh with on my journey to understand my child's experience and my own.
Safe to Be is a new support group for families with LGBTQ+ members who are needing some extra support. Beginning Thursday Feb 5th, we will meet the first Thursdays of every month from 6-7:15 pm in the Cafe and it will be facilitated by me, Pastor Rob, and retired counselor Luann Sandahl. Contact either Rob: revrwm@gmail.com or Luann: luann_sandahl@hotmail.com for more information, or, just show up and join us!

Grief Support Group
2nd & 4th Thursdays | 1:30PM | Café
Grief comes in many forms—the death of someone we love, the loss of a relationship, changes in health or circumstances, or any transition that leaves us mourning what once was. Whatever your experience, you don’t have to walk through it alone.
Our new Grief Support Group provides a safe, compassionate, and confidential space to share, listen, learn, and find support alongside others who understand the journey of grief. Together, we’ll explore healthy ways of navigating loss while finding hope, connection, and encouragement along the way.
Whether your grief is recent or something you have carried for a long time, you are welcome. Come as you are, and know that you don’t have to carry your grief alone.

Caregiver Support Group
1st & 3rd Thursdays | 1:30PM | SHPC
The Caregiver Support Group, led by Jessica Smith Vaughan and Pastor Amy, is resuming its gatherings following the merger and welcomes both returning and new participants. This group offers a compassionate and confidential space for connection, encouragement, reflection, and mutual support. We use a broad definition of caregiver—including anyone who provides ongoing care, assistance, advocacy, or support for a family member, friend, neighbor, or loved one who is not fully independent. Whether you are caring for an aging parent, a spouse, a child with special needs, someone facing illness or disability, or navigating another caregiving role, you are invited to join us. Caregiving can be both meaningful and demanding; this group provides an opportunity to share experiences, receive support, and be reminded that you do not carry these responsibilities alone. The group meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month and all are welcome.
