Have you started thinking of all the people you have to give Christmas gifts to this year? Parents, grandparents, siblings, children, grandchildren, relatives, friends, teachers, co-workers, neighbors, to name a few?  It can be challenging to think about what to get for those who seem to have everything, or those who you have to “gift” something out of obligation.  Have you ever considered giving a gift of giving?  If not, here is how you can do it and benefit missions supported by SHPC at the same time!  The idea is to shift the focus away from “stuff” towards meaning and impact.  

For example, instead of buying a sweater for your sister, you could purchase food for the food pantry at Williams Elementary to feed hungry families in honor of her love of cooking. This “alternative” gift becomes something memorable and impactful, while honoring your sister.  

Please consider a new way of giving gifts this Christmas!  All money generated for each SHPC mission will go directly to them. Our first annual SHPC Mission Market will take place November 22nd after church.

Mobile Loaves & Fishes is the largest prepared feeding program to the homeless and working poor in Austin. Volunteers are needed to prepare food and load the truck, or join the truck run and distribute essentials throughout Southwest Austin.

Use your handy skills and make an impact on a nonprofit serving kids and adults! Volunteers will gather at 9AM at the JKR Barn and enjoy a cup of coffee while they learn about the day's task. Volunteers and staff will then work together to complete the task until Noon. Come as often or as little as you can!
